99% of the time, I absolutely LOVE being a stay at home mom. I do have moments when I long for the quiet, organization, and efficiency I associate with my previous career. Those moments usually come when I am hastily trying to tackle last minute action items for deliciousDESIGNS, and my kids are not on board with my doing so! Below is a conversation with my three-year old that I had recently while attempting to get some work done:
Sam: "Mom, I want Lila to come over."
Me: "Lila is at school right now so she can't come over."
Sam: "But, Mom, I really, really want her to come over."
Me: "Sam, Lila is at school today and she can't come over."
Sam: "Mom, I really, really, really (emphasis on that last "really") want her to come over."
Me: "Lila is 9 years old, which means she has to go to school all day, so she isn't at home. That means she can't come over to our house."
A pause for about 2 minutes and then...
Sam: "Mom, I want Lila to come over."
Me (starting to get exasperated): "Honey, I've already told you three times that Lila is at school and can't come over right now. I'm not going to talk about this anymore. I'd be happy to talk about something else, though. Want to talk about something else?"
Sam: "Ummm, yes....let's talk about Lila coming over."
This is when I proceeded to hit my head against the wall.
Happy Hump Day!

Thank You!
Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Indy Baby & Toddler Expo this weekend. We definitely need twice the space next time to accomodate all of our visitors! We truly enjoyed meeting all of you and showing off our collection. You all should have received a discount coupon code in your email for future online purchases. If you didn't receive one and would like it, please email us at info@mydeliciousdesigns.com.
After coming off a very busy week, we're gearing up for another trunk show next week. It should be a fun one! With that said, unfortunately, we're going to have to start using this sign below on some of our designs: Some of our most popular designs will be SOLD OUT soon! A few of our fabrics are coming down to their final quantities, and we can't find them anywhere to be replaced! We're busily searching for fabulous new fabrics to create similar, but new, designs. However, if you're really itching for something in particular, let us know what it is so we can let you know where we stand on quantity.

I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way
So, my 3-year old daughter wore her black cat costume, complete with tail and cowgirl boots, to the mall today. Needless to say, we got a few stares, a few chuckles and a few comments along the way...all oblivious to Samantha as she bounced through the mall! People always say to me when they find out what I do, "That must be so fun to have all those cool clothes for your kids." I'd love to respond and say, "Yes, it absolutely is! My daughter adores them and wears deliciousDESIGNS every single day (editors note: like Michelle's daughters do!)." The truth is that Sam has a mind of her own and would rather create her own fabulous outfit herself. Sometimes this may include a deliciousDESIGN, but most often it's something similar to the look she's sporting in the picture below. Although, from time to time, she'll let me sneak a pic of her in a deliciousDESIGN. Here, Sam is wearing rodeoDRIVE from our Spring collection, and I personally think she looks pretty cute in both looks! She doesn't want anyone to tell her what to wear, how to wear it or when to wear it. I've learned that this battle simply isn't worth fighting anymore, and there are multiple occasions each week when I bite my tongue as I load everyone into the car. And, as much as I complain that I wish she'd wear our clothes daily, the truth is I wouldn't have it any other way. She is strong-minded and always knows what she wants, and I have grown to admire that in her little 3-year old body.
