Please Don't Stop the Music, Music, Music!

Michelle and I are furiously trying to finalize our Spring release. The last samples are coming in, and we couldn't be more thrilled with how they're looking. Below is a sneak peek at one of our favorites so far - sunsetBLVD from our lalaCOLLECTION! Pretty cute, huh? It's so hard to capture the fun look of these huge twirls on the jeans in a picture, but trust me, they are over the top and SOOOO adorable!

So, as we're preparing for two upcoming trunk shows in the next two weeks, I couldn't help but start laughing out loud when I remembered this story. Michelle's husband created a super hip CD for our launch party. The CD is full of music that you'd likely hear at a swanky Manhattan art gallery. While we were preparing the Sunday before the show, she popped it in so I could listen to it for the first time. We worked and listened to the CD for at least 5 hours straight. And, as we were listening to it, we continued to make comments about how good it was. Well, Rich came home later that evening and after about 10 minutes asked Michelle if we realized that we had the CD player on repeat and had listened to the same song the entire time? We're going with the story that we failed to realize that minor detail because we are so incredibly focused all the time while working. Others may disagree. :-)

What's In A Name?

Many people have asked us how we came up with the name deliciousDESIGNS so I thought I would share our story. Both Michelle and I knew that we wanted a name that evoked hip and chic, yet also conveyed the fact that our outfits are, well, delicious! As in squeeze your kids because they're so darn cute in that outfit, delicious! We went through a whole list of name possibilities - we'll have to dig those out again soon for a little laugh! As we were in the midst of our search, Michelle happened to catch 'Live with Regis and Kelly' on TV. One of their guests on the show was Christian Siriano who had just been named the winner of Project Runway. As Kelly Ripa (could she be any cuter, by the way?) was interviewing him, she told him that his clothes were just so delicious! When Michelle told me that story and suggested that name, I knew that was it - I loved it and so did she. Thus, deliciousDESIGNS was born! One of these days, we'll get around to sending Ms. Ripa a fun little package letting her know she was responsible for naming our business!

1st Post!

Is it actually possible that I have finally sat down and committed to writing our first post? Michelle and I have talked about this endlessly, but neither one of us can seem to find the time to do it. There are so many great blogs out there that I follow on a daily basis, and I just need to find the time to be posting along with reading! I've thought a lot about what this first post would be. We both have had so many funny stories as we've gone through this roller coaster of starting deliciousDESIGNS - like the time we were so pumped to have our business cards delivered and my son took our very first one and crumpled it up into an unreadable mess. Or, the time we were attempting to work in my basement with all four of our kids (ages 3 and under at the time) and had paper and fabric scattered everywhere, kids drawing on marketing collateral with crayons and the little ones climbing all over both of us and our work. Or, the growing list of items that have been broken or damaged as we attempt to juggle working at home with kids! It has been such an incredible ride so far and we're both excited to share our ups and downs through this blog. But, even better, for our blogFANS, we'll be sharing exciting giveaways and discounts that you can only find here, so keep checking back! We're hoping to start posting very frequently. Our spring line is nearly complete, and it is soooooo DELICIOUS!!! I mean, yummy, yummy clothes for your little fashionistas are going to be released soon! The colors are phenomenol and the designs are so unique! We're also going to be offering separates for a short time as well, so if you are feeling the economic crunch like so many are, your kids can still bring out their inner fashionistas! Lastly, we're beyond thrilled to announce that we've recently brought on a fantastic addition to deliciousDESIGNS. Jenn Foley will be working as our first trunkCONSULTANT, hosting trunk shows throughout the midwest. Many of you likely know Jenn as the Watson's Girl from TV on those commercials selling pools, pool tables, playgrounds, etc! But, we know her as a friend and fashionista that is going to be a wonderful addition to our team. It also doesn't hurt that she has two super cute girls that also serve as deliciousDESIGNS models!

Have a super day and keep checking back for new posts!
