Miley Concert....one more thing....

oh, I thought I would share the pic we captured when they both found out we were going....

Miley Concert....

...okay, so hopeTATTOO did not win during the high level negotiations I had with my daughter on what to wear to her first 'big girl' concert. Instead, once again, she really wanted to wear the rodeoDRIVE dress with theMARMONT pants.....it was a good choice and it did coordinate with her bestest friend who happened to be wearing hollywoodBLVD. Given the concert, these ended up being fantastic choices. Although Miley's choice of clothing and dancing style provided the need for conversation around 'what is appropriate for teenagers to be wearing and doing', we had a fantastic time. It really demystified the entire 'famous - rock star' thing.....it is all about the journey.....what a great experience for us to share.

Miley Cyrus Concert....

I am thinking this is the winning design for the Miley Cyrus concert tonight. My daughter has no idea she is going and she has no idea that she actually gets to MEET Miley. I will post some updates after her big night tonight.........she is going to flip!!

Consumer Product Safety - We are good!!

As you may or may not know, there has been a lot of buzz around children's products and the lead content associated with them ever since we had the big scare. I too was one of those moms who purchased lead testing kits, tested toys and threw away any toy that remotely looked like on on 'the list'.

Anyway, many of us small business have been operating with a fear that we might have to shut down once the full impact of the 2008 CPSIA went into effect. I am writing to tell you that deliciousDESIGNS is compliant with the amended law and you can rest assure that not only will the clothing you purchase from dD be over the top cute, comfortable, and well made, it will also be safe. Think Spring!!!

Sounds so crazy I know but we are busy working in the studio on Spring designs! It is really hard to fit in right now and quite honestly it is tough when you wake up and see frost on the ground :-) However, we will be releasing new Spring designs as they are complete.....keep your eyes open.

In the meantime, be sure to make your purchases for any holiday designs you are wanting. We will be closing out several of these fabric combinations as we run out of fabric. We already have several items 'out of stock' and with the current order volume, there will be more to come.

Rachel Griffiths - November Cookie Magazine!

For all the mommies out there - please read the above article that features Rachel Griffiths. I would argue that most of us need to be a little more like her.....okay, I know I do :-) Okay, so she has a beautiful home, gorgeous (extremely well dress I might add) kiddos and is drop dead beautiful her self but it is not that which we should strive to be more like. Instead, I loved the part where her son cuts a hole in his bedroom curtain so he can watch people coming up the front steps and she says "brilliant" - all curtains should have peepholes. There is nothing better than that attitude as a mother.

We all strive to be the 'best' mommy and sometimes we get stuck doing all the stuff that keep us from being the 'best' mommy. Relax, do less, keep it simple and most importantly.....let's not take ourselves so darn seriously. Much love to all the mommies out there!

So sorry for being behind on blog activity. My family and I spent some time in the Smoky Mountains with another family ~ great fun! ....if you have been poking around the site the last week or so, you have noticed several changes....there are many more to come. Although the home page was to be updated by last Friday, some 'technical difficulties' have delayed it.....it should happen tomorrow!! In the event you clicked on 'otherWEAR' today, you would have noticed nothing in there as of yet. It is coming ~ this category will include many new products like hair accessories, hand made cards, diaper wipe cases with coordinating burp cloths and more. Keep checking the site daily for all the new changes!

Check out the new photos of one of our favorite models in our dD signature ruffle dress. This dress comes in several fabric combinations. It can be worn as a dress or with leggins' or even jeans.....too much fun.

Two Updated Designs ~ cotoDELICIOUS and melroseAVE

Check out the new and improved versions of cotoDELICIOUS and melroseAVE. These were both huge hits last season. We have made a few minor changes for this season. Look under 'girlWEAR' for details and ordering information. Both designs can come with either a long sleeve version or a tank version of the tee and a full or capri length on the pant. I have never been out in public with these designs on and not had an absolute ton of people stop to ask where I got these....they are just too much fun and so comfortable!

This design combines fun, fashion and functionality all in one. It comes with our classic knit yoga pant waist with flare bottoms as well as a fun pocket in tattoo fabric on each leg. The top has an oversized pocket in tattoo fabric with flared bottom and sleeves. This design is extremely comfortable yet screams "I have style". Okay, so the website is not going to be updated until 8.22.09......I would really like to be able to just snap my fingers and have these things done but no such luck. Okay, I am a little behind in getting these out...way too many kiddo's birthday parties this weekend and a long visit to the ER for one of my little ones has caused me to be more behind than usual. I can not wait to share these with you! I should be receiving all the new pictures today....I will be working like a crazy woman to get them on the website and out for all to see. Introducing Organics!!

Keep your eyes open for organic babyWEAR this Fall. We we will be introducing a few organic pieces to our babyWEAR collection with the release of our Fall and Winter designs. We are expanding the collections each season based on customer feedback and many of you have asked for organic pieces for your itty bitty ones.....especially for those onezies ('onesies' has actually been trademarked so we are staying away from that one) that are oh-so-close to their little precious bodies.

melroseAVE.....fabric change!

melroseAVE has been unbelievably popular this summer and has 'sold out' in the current fabric selection. We just received the new version earlier this week and it was part of the photo shoot yesterday. We will have the new and improved melroseAVE available online very soon! The product picture on mydeliciousdesigns.com does not do it justice...here is a random pic until the new ones are released.......

We did it!!!

The photo shoot at hether miles photography today was fantastic! We were able to showcase 12 of the girlWEAR designs and hopefully next time we can get some of the boyWEAR in there too. We had five gorgeous models and they all did such a great job. I should have the pictures in about two weeks and I will work day and night to get the website updated.

In the meantime, I thought I would share a photo shoot with Jenn Foley a.k.a 'The Watson's Girl".....she had both her gorgeous girls in deliciousDESIGNS in the June issue of Indianapolis Monthly.
